L'Arche Nehalem is continuing the process of discerning a new Community Leader / Executive Director for our community. Susan Mitchell, snjm, is serving as acting director and has offered to let her name stand in the discernment process for the next Community Leader. After soliciting input from a wide sample of Nehalem's daily-life and close extended community, the Discernment Team felt the consensus is to proceed with a closed process at this time with Susan as the sole candidate. Susan has entered into a personal discernment process and will be meeting with different segments of the community in the coming month to share her thoughts and hear feedback. At the end of April, Susan will have an interview with the Discernment Team, who will then give a recommendation to the Board. The members of the Discernment Team welcome questions or input about the process. The members of the team are: Joan Eads, L'Arche USA (206-306-1330), Amy Barcia, Leadership Team Representative (503-251-6901), Pat Boose, Board Rep. (503-653-6865), Dan Barcia, Assistant Rep. (503-251-6940) and Clarissa Schoenberg, Extended Community Rep. (503-282-2474).
