NEWS

Jerry Deas and Susan Mitchell will represent L’Arche Nehalem at the L’Arche USA General Assembly in Cleveland, April 20-23. Marilyn Petruzzelli has been selected by the Regional Council to be one of two core members who will represent the Western US Region at this meeting. In addition to other business, the Assembly will be selecting a new Zone Coordinator to replace Joan Eads, who will complete eight years in this role December 31, 2006.
Welcome to Rev. David Perry, who has volunteered to help support us in the process of naming L’Arche Nehalem’s spiritual identity and in developing supports to nourish spiritual life in our community. David is a retired Episcopal priest who learned about L’Arche through a fellow Episcopal priest, Reverend Dick Bower, who is Pastoral Minister for L’Arche USA.
Chrissy Bossert, a long-time core member of the L’Arche Spokane community, passed away on February 10. Terry Clowes, a core member in the L’Arche Mobile community, passed away on March 10. Please keep these communities and families in your prayers.
Marilyn and Diane Dunham spoke about L’Arche Nehalem to Leslie Wuest’s Social Work class at Warner Pacific College on March 13.

LIFE IN THE HOMES

Melissa Bixler and Cindy Leonard enjoyed David Gray in concert at the Rose Garden on March 16.
It’s Spring! Flowers are blooming, the weather is warming up and Adam Richards is looking for friends to enjoy the outdoors with him. Call Nehalem House (503-254-4558) to schedule a time to play Frisbee™, basketball, or baseball with him.
The Community Independence Project (CIP) is preparing to plant vegetables in the garden boxes at Nehalem House again this season. They began working the soil the last week of March.
