SEPTEMBER 2005

Our mission is to create a place to call home for people with developmental disabilities and those who share life with them.

NEWS

  • The process to discern and welcome a suitable person to replace Jeff in the community is nearly complete. Please keep the process in your prayers and watch this space for more news.
  • GIVING IN THE WORKPLACE--IT WORKS!

Do you work for a large company or a government agency? Did you know that you can give to L'Arche through your United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, or other employee charitable campaign? Spread out your gift all year and have it painlessly taken out of your paycheck! As Ron Popeil says, "Set it and forget it!" Some companies will also match your contribution dollar for dollar!

All you have to do is write in L'Arche Nehalem as provided by the United Way Donor Choice Program or similar provision in your workplace campaign. (Our non-profit Tax ID number is 93-088-5766.) If you don't see it, ask your employer! If you're really inspired, consider mentioning us to a co-worker. Your support means so much! Thank you!

In community, people care for each other and not just for the community in the abstract, as a whole, as an institution or as an ideal way of life. It is people that matter; to love and care for the people that are there, just as they are.
