Joni signs yes, emphatically nodding her fist and head up and down, and humming.
Keeley: Thanks, Joni. Do you have any dreams that you want to share?
Joni does her sign for Nemo, a kissing sound with cheeks sucked in.
Keeley: Yeah, you spend all night dreaming with your stuffed Nemo in bed.
Joni hums in affirmation.
Keeley: Are there any other dreams that you have? Anything you want to do or someone you want to see?
Joni says "wa-wa," her word for beach, and curls her fingertips towards her palm, her sign for Grace LeChevallier, our Director of Care.
Keeley: Would you like to go to the beach with Grace?
Joni hums enthusiastically, holding her hands out, palms up in a sign that almost means absolutely or you get it.
Keeley: Yeah that would be fun! What do you like to do at the beach Joni?
Joni pulls her shoulders up in a prolonged shrug, her sign for ice cream, then relaxes them and says BUUBUU, which is her sign for burger.
Keeley: You like to stop and get a burger and ice cream at Tillamook huh?
Joni hums her agreement again.
Keeley: Do you have any dreams that have come true Joni?
Joni thinks for a moment, looks up at the ceiling, her sign for her brother Frank, then extends her hand with pointer and middle fingers forming a "V," her sign for his wife Vonnie.
Keeley: Oh, Frank and Vonnie! You had a dream to see them, and they have been coming to visit a lot haven't they?
Joni signs yes while humming and then breaks down into laughter.
Keeley: Joni are there any other dreams you would like to share? For the house or the community?
Joni continues to laugh and then begins to move the pegs in her Light-Brite.
Keeley: Would you like to answer any more questions, Joni?
Joni shakes her head no and continues to do Light-Brite.
Keeley: Ok, thanks for sharing your dreams with me, Joni.
