Brett is a speaker, writer, teacher, pastor, dad, partner, activist, pilgrim, and pet lover who enjoys a long history with L'Arche. He served as an assistant while doing an anthropological study of life in L'Arche Lambeth (London), as a board member of L'Arche Spokane, and on groups looking to establish a L'Arche community in North Carolina. Brett engages deeply on issues facing people living with disabilities and faith communities, having written four books on the topic and authoring a national paper on the subject for the Presbyterian Church (USA). After teaching at Duke Divinity School for over a decade, he began the non-profit School of the Pilgrim, leading faith groups on pilgrimage. He just returned from walking the last 100 km of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
Brett served as Senior Interim Pastor at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church until April and is excited to be part of the L'Arche Portland leadership team.
