History of L'Arche Nehalem

Nehalem Community began in 1983 when a group of concerned people of faith began meeting to dream and plan for a L'Arche community to take root in Oregon. This group worked for three years before our first home opened in 1986. We expanded to a second home in 1994. Four adults with developmental disabilities and three assistants live in each of them.
