Nicholas Dazer, Board President
Nick is principal shareholder of Nicholas Dazer PC and is an experienced trial attorney who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving complex business disputes, insurance coverage, and catastrophic personal injury. He has an AV (Preeminent) rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, has been rated as a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” each year since 2008, and has successfully argued in the Oregon Supreme Court. Nick has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology cum laude from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Lewis & Clark College. Nick is married and has three children, one of whom has special needs. When he is not representing clients in court, he is either fishing for salmon and steelhead in Oregon’s myriad pristine rivers or building fishing rods with which to pursue them. His other hobbies are hunting and gourmet cooking.

Faythe Aiken, Vice President
Faythe Aiken works in Operations at Bethesda Lutheran Communities as their Mission Implementation Specialist. Prior to her role at Bethesda, Faythe has worked as a policy and research analyst in multiple positions. Faythe is interested in work that promotes the self-direction and the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community. Her connection with L'Arche began as she worked and lived in the L'Arche Belfast community in Northern Ireland. Faythe has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Public Policy from Portland State University.

Sarah Griffith is a commercial banking underwriter with JP Morgan Chase. She relocated to Oregon in June 2011 for work and about a year later met her now husband at a church bible study. Sarah was born and raised in Washington and attended the University of Washington, Tacoma earning a Finance degree. Her and her husband had their first child in January of 2019. She has an avid love for all things “spreadsheet”, is actively involved in her church, and is passionate about financial education.
Frances is a self-advocate and founding member of the L'Arche Portland community. Now retired, she remains deeply involved in the REX program at the University of Portland and leads an independent lifestyle with her roommate and brother Paul, who also experiences an intellectual disability.
Mary is retired from Nike and first heard about L'Arche in high school from her French teacher who had lived at Cuise-la-Motte. She later reconnected with this teacher at L'Arche Roma and was encouraged to find the L'Arche Community in Portland. She has been volunteering with L'Arche Portland for 4 years and is thrilled to support the expansion to the Westside!
