Hi *{{Informal Name}}*,

As this year has come to a close, we find ourselves filled with gratitude for the people who make L’Arche Portland a place of belonging. This community continues to show us, again and again, that life is richer when we share it together across difference.

Thank you for the ways you show up with generosity, curiosity, and care. Your presence makes this community what it is.

As you read these updates, we invite you to hold close the truth that we are in this together. Your presence, your care, and your support help us remain a place of belonging through times of uncertainty.

Thank you.

An Evening of Belonging at L'Arche Portland!

This fall, our community gathered for our biggest fundraiser of the year and what an evening it was. Together, we surpassed our $80,000 goal and raised over $115,000 to support life and community at L’Arche Portland. The night was filled with music, shared joy, and the energy of our silent and live auctions, all rooted in deep connection.

We were honored to celebrate David Perry with the Spirit of L’Arche Award, recognizing his many years of dedication and love for this community. It was a beautiful expression of what happens when we come together in belonging.

A New Bathroom at Neahkahnie House

Neahkahnie House now has a brand new accessible bathroom, and we are so grateful to share that this long awaited project has officially wrapped up. The updated space makes it easier for the core members and the assistants to access a safe, functional shower area.

This renovation was made possible through the skilled partnership of In Your Home, a Portland based remodeling company known for thoughtful, high quality work that centers accessibility and care. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and attention that brought this essential space to life.

A New Face in the House

We are delighted to welcome a new face to L’Arche Portland. Amon has joined the community as a volunteer from Germany for a year of service through the VIA Program. He is living at Gabriel House and serving as an assistant at Neahkahnie House.

Amon enjoys playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to discover new places. If you come by for a house visit or see him at a community event, please say hi!

We are grateful for the energy, curiosity, and care he brings, and we are excited to share this year of community life together.
